Procedures Performed – Facial Reconstruction:
This lady had a basal cell skin cancer of her left temple area that was resected by a Mohs surgeon. A challenge in this case was the part of the resection included hair-bearing skin on the temple. A modified transposition flap was used to reconstruct the defect, while ensuring that adjacent hair-bearing skin was brought in to replace the missing hair. This allowed the hairline to remain unchanged and the patient was able to keep her hair up as desired.
