Facial Reconstruction Photos - Case #3222

Patient Case #3222

Procedures Performed – Facial Reconstruction:

This lady had a long-standing basal cell skin cancer that, when finally removed, led to a very large defect with much of the nasal skin missing, as well as cartilage and inner nasal lining. A paramedian forehead flap was used w/multiple cartilage and bone grafts, as well as a mucosal lining flap.

Despite the large amount of skin and underlying support structures that can be removed in the efforts to eradicate a skin cancer, the reconstructive techniques available today can often allow the patient to have natural-looking results.
