Restylane
Restylane® is an injectable filler similar to JUVÉDERM® that is used to improve the overall appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. Restylane is particularly effective on the area around your mouth and nose. The results of your initial Restylane treatment in our Houston cosmetic center can last for six months or more, and the results of follow-up treatments tend to last even longer.
When you visit the Belage Center for dermal fillers in Houston, we determine whether Restylane or another filler is right for you. To get started, request a consultation with board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Haresh Yalamanchili or call to schedule an appointment.
How Restylane Works
As you age, the collagen in your skin tends to break down, resulting in weaker skin elasticity and wrinkles. Restylane works by stimulating collagen production in your skin, replenishing your body’s supply, and inhibiting the breakdown of your existing collagen.
Once it is in your skin, the hyaluronic acid in Restylane also acts as a magnet for water, helping preserve your skin’s renewed volume. Your final results will be visible within a week.
Dr. Haresh Yalamanchili
An experienced, double board-certified surgeon, Dr. Yalamanchili makes the physical and emotional wellbeing of each patient a priority.
Restylane Recovery
After treatment, you may experience pronounced swelling for two to three days. You can resume your normal activities immediately, but Dr. Yalamanchili usually advises patients to stay out of the sun as much as possible.
Restylane Side Effects
As with JUVÉDERM, Restylane side effects are rare, but may include:
- Nausea
- Headache
- Pain and redness
Very rarely, patients may experience some degree of muscle weakness. This is temporary and will resolve itself over the course of a few days or weeks. Dr. Yalamanchili will monitor your recovery to ensure that any abnormal symptoms are quickly addressed.
