PRP Treatment with Micro-needling
Often referred to as collagen induction therapy, the PRP with micro-needling technique is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that is characterized by fast recovery times and natural-looking results.
This technique is extensively employed by doctors around the world for treating a number of common skin issues. These issues include trauma scars, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, sun damage, and loose skin.
Dr. Yalamanchili performs the micro-needling and PRP procedures simultaneously to achieve the desired results with minimal side effects. Microneedling is a technique used to create very small micro-injuries in the skin tissues in order to stimulate healing.
In the PRP procedure, Dr. Yalamanchili takes a blood sample from the patient’s body and employs the centrifuge technique to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components of the blood.
The PRP, which is rich in cytokine and natural growth factors, is then applied directly to the perforations created in the patient’s skin by the micro-needling procedure. These perforations allow the PRP to more easily rejuvenate the deeper skin tissues. PRP is known to stimulate collagen production in the body, and this heals the damaged skin tissue and restores the natural radiance of the skin.
PRP Hair Treatment
Platelet-rich plasma is also used for treating the problem of hair loss and age-related balding among both men and women. The PRP hair-loss treatment is essentially a three-step process that involves the extraction, processing, and re-injection of the patient’s blood into their own scalp.
The PRP treatment is often regarded as an effective therapy for not only triggering natural hair growth but also maintaining it by enhancing the supply of blood to the hair follicle. Depending upon the unique requirements of an individual, the PRP hair treatment may be performed in conjunction with other hair-loss procedures or medications as well.
During the PRP hair treatment, Dr. Yalamanchili will first draw a sample of the patient’s blood and then transfer it to a centrifuge for the separation of the PRP from the rest of the fluid. Within the next ten minutes or so, the blood will separate out into three distinct layers comprising the platelet-rich plasma, the platelet-poor plasma, and the red blood cells. The PRP is then injected into the patient’s scalp with the help of a syringe.
PRP consists of essential proteins that are required for the healthy growth of hair. Studies indicate that injecting PRP into the balding patches of the scalp helps promote natural hair growth. It also helps to achieve a healthier-looking head of hair with thicker hair shafts and greater volume.
