Your Pre & Post Care

As you consider your facial plastic surgery options, we want to make sure you are correctly informed about the many steps that are necessary both before and after surgery. At our Houston plastic surgery practice, Dr. Haresh Yalamanchili will take his time to explain every step of the process in detail and confirm that you fully understand your responsibilities before surgery is scheduled.

Every procedure requires unique pre-and post-operative care. We have listed some of the more general steps to help you get an idea of what is involved. Keep in mind that these requirements are for surgical procedures only. Please schedule your Houston facial plastic surgery consultation today to get in-depth information.

Your Consultation

Your first visit with our team will be highly informational and involve a physical exam. Dr. Yalamanchili will evaluate the condition of your skin and bone tissue, and assess the form and function of the head and neck. From a cosmetic standpoint, he will address any symmetry issues, evaluate the architecture of your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin, and highlight the areas that can benefit from cosmetic surgery. Of course, your personal preferences and beauty goals will be discussed as you and Dr. Yalamanchili determine your perfect solution together.

Before Facial Surgery

During your pre-operative appointment, we will provide you with all of the instructions you will need to follow before the procedure. We will discuss topics like anesthesia and diet, alcohol, smoking, and medication restrictions. We will also let you know how long your procedure will last, make sure you have a friend or family member to drive you home and give you all of your post-operative instructions. You will be provided with any prescriptions needed during recovery (usually an antibiotic and pain management medication). We will also recommend supplements or natural remedies that encourage proper healing. Dr. Yalamanchili will spend as much time with you as necessary to ensure you are completely ready for surgery and have no unanswered questions.

After Facial Surgery

After your procedure, your incision sites will be wrapped with protective gauze. Drains may be attached to your wrappings to help keep the area clean and prevent infection. Before you are released, our nurses will see to it that you meet specific discharge qualifications. Your nurse will also review your home-care instructions, including wound care and activity restrictions. Before you leave, we will schedule your follow-up appointments, usually one day after surgery for a dressing change and five days after surgery for suture removal. Our team will cover all of the bases, including when you can use make-up, return to work, resume exercise, and more. We will also let you know when you can expect to experience the final results of your facial enhancement.

At the Belage Center, we believe in educating our patients about the risks, benefits, and requirements of cosmetic surgery so you can make an informed decision. To hear about our many incredible facial rejuvenation treatments, and to find out if you are a good candidate, please contact Dr. Yalamanchili today.
